I'm running vCenter Server Appliance 6.0, esxi 6.0, vSan 6.2.
From the web client, I can of course edit the settings of a single VM and expand each hard drive and see what storage policy is being used. I don't really want to do that, individually, on 1000 VMs!
Is there a report I can run that gives this specific info for all VMs at once?

on our vSAN Clusters (3 Clusters with Fujitsu 2540) can't read the vSAN Healtch Check the firmware version of Controller.
VMware write that vendor tool should be installed - all hosts were installed with latest Fujitsu OEM Image.
All Hosts are updated with VUM to actual patch level.
Firmware on controller is the correct 13.00.*
I have no idea what happens :-(
All vSANClusters before based on DELL Servers. I never seen this problem before.
Does anyone have hints for me?

My steps
1.LAB 2 separate Vcenter VC1 and VC2 ( seperate SSO) - all working fine
2. Now I try to make a Linke mode but I have same problems
- unistall SSO on the VC1 and instal again the multisite (point the target to VC2)
- unistall SSO on the VC2 and instal again the multisite (point the target to VC1)

I have a big issue, let me explain to you.
I'm trying to upgrade my ESXi from version 5.1 to 6.5.
My ESXi is install on USB key in my host (IBM M4) with no HDD, only san connected
So, I know, that it is not possible to go from 5.1 to 6.5 version, so i've made a first upgrade to ESXi 5.5
all was good, I've build a USB key to boot on it and do the upgrade, the upgrade option was here and my configuration was here after the upgrade.
But when I try the same thing to upgrade from 5.5 to 6.5, there was no upgrade option, after selecting the internal USB key, the next screen is the language selection for the keyboard, after that i have to choose a password for the root user and after that it says to me that i will install a new version of ESXi 6.5.
During the selection of the stockage where install, when I select my internal USB key and press F1 it says that I have ESXi 5.5 install on it.
So I don't understand why it's not working...
Can you please help me ?
(My vCenter is already in 6.5 version and I have to host with HDD that I have upgraded without any trouble)
Installed the long-overdue VMware Tools 10.2.0 which finally fixed the shared folder write from MS Office problem.
But this version appears to introduce two serious new bugs:
Both of these problems were reported in the Fusion thread about the MS Office problem, where a VMware engineer encouraged posting any new problems in a new thread. Both Fusion and Workstation users reported the same symptoms in the Fusion thread where the VMware employee said to start a new thread, so it seems pretty clear this is a bug in Tools, not in Fusion or Workstation.

I am using App Volumes 2.13.2 and I have assigned two app stacks to a VM and got the message
"Skipping assignment lookup for "Computer <domain\x00001$> on "Computer <domain\x00001$> because other volumes are already attached"
I am the opinion App Volumes can assign several AppStacks to a VM at the same time. Did I misconfigure anything?
How to configure nmi dump in esx
I have a Unitrends backup virtual machine running as a virtual machine. I also have a Windows Server running as a virtual machine. I can ping anything on the network from the Windows virtual machine. I can ping the windows virtual machine from physical machines on the network. The issue is when using name lookup on the Unitrends backup machine the Unitrends cannot see the Windows server to back it up.
Our IP addresses are dynamic and I need to use name lookup rather than a hard coded IP address in Unitrends. Unitrends is using nslookup to get IP addresses. When I log in SSH to Unitrends and run nslookup I do not get an IP address for my Windows server by name. I DO have the correct DNS servers configured. Nslookup on the Unitrends does return the correct IP addresses for other machines, just not the other virtual machine.
I have turned off the firewall on the Windows server and on the Unitrends backup server - didn't help.
Not sure what the issue is but feels like a setting in EXSi. Any help troubleshooting this would be appreciated.

I want to know how to reset SATADOM.
I have 4 vSAN ready nodes for testing vCF 2.3.1(Hitachi UCP V120F). But these node used another vSAN environment, so SATADOM in these node already installed ESXi 6.5.
One of the requirement for vSAN ready node during the H/W imaging process in vCF, vSAN ready node should configured PXE boot mode and SATADOM boot device under PXE setting in bios settings. But In this case, I can’t select SATADOM for boot device under PXE boot mode, because SATADOM already installed other OS.
If someone knows how to reset SATADOM, please let me know.

Only KB I can find around this is a 6.2 fix. Since my instances are 7.x I'm a little worried about applying this.
I have noticed that when I try to load a type Azure:VirtualMachine from a workflow run it takes forever to pull (might be the way the get logic was implemented, or the API call behind the scenes used), so I can see why this occurs.

I'm working on AutoDeploy PoC. I want to right a PowerCli scipt to automate the addition of the distributed switch in new hosts add with AutoDeploy.
Right now, I'm able to install ESXi, add the new host in the right cluster and apply the host profile with AutoDeploy.
I just have to write a script to automate the addition of the distribueted switch.

We run multiple Virtual machines and the internal graphics card can not keep up with the load. is it possible to run and ext thunderbolt GPU box and resolve this issue.

Using Workstation 14 Pro running on a Windows 10 machine, I want to share two drives in a Win XP VM.
So, the 2 drives are shared with Everyone having Full Control. Then, in VMWare, using the NAT network adapter I've gone into the Shared Folders and added the two drives' root directories and marked them Always enabled.
But, powering on the XP VM, neither drive is visible. So what am I doing wrong? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
This is an amazing group. My questions have been answered for the most part and have been very helpful. I have just started using Orchestrator since Dec. Knowledge I have gotten has all been trial and error and this group. I have been able to figure most things out, more importantly I have been able to figure out HOW and WHY the solutions I have gotten from here work. One area I am having trouble with is with Presentation. Maybe because I have only used Presentation limited basis. What I have used is creating drop down boxes or check boxes a few times. Those have been using the Predefined list of elements, calling an action and there I am lost. Not sure what the flow is. I see what I was told to do - I am just not grasping the HOW or WHY it works. I see the components of the action and the Presentation calling the action, but it is just not clear.
An example that I am working with is I have an input parameter called ISO (it is a string). I know that I need to configure the Presentation components. Just not sure how (more importantly the why). The goal is that I want a dropdown list of ISO filenames. Those files will be contained in an array. That array is created by compiling a list of filenames on [DatastoreName]ISOFILES\
I think I am close, but the structure of the flow in how Predefined List of Elements works. I have created one (with this groups help) and it works great. I am just not sure why it works. The one I created in the past allows me to select multiple VMs. The predefined list of element for Select Virtual Machines (my Input parameter) the value is GetAction("com.test.vmudate","getDynamicVMS").call(#VMs)
My limited knowledge states that it is calling action getDynamicVMS from the com.test.vmupdate module. As far as what call(#VMs) is, I have no idea. Again, thanks so much for the help.
I have downloaded 4.7. logged on as admin and run the install. 3/4 of the way it stops and fails.

I have a really annoying problem since I upgraded to vmware fusion 10 (10.0.1) (why oh why do I keep upgrading)
When I move to the virtual machine which is hosting windows 10, no matter what caps state the virtual machine is in, my caps always goes on when I return to the host. So no caps in host to virtual machine no caps = CAPS when returning to host, no caps on host to caps on virtual machine = CAPS on host. I continually move from virtual machine to host which means that I constantly have to turn CAPS off. Can anyone tell me how I can fix this?

I have a Blade Center ibm h22 and 8 blades in it. All of them are running ESXi 5.5 7618464 It's newly installed after 5.1
Installation was proceeded as upgrade.
Also i installed new vCenter 6.0.
Everything works fine, except for one blade. From time to time it gives me error "Unable to connect the MKS: Could not connect to pipe \\.\pipe\vmware-authdpipe within retry period". Reboot helps for 2-3 days. Because of this Veeam backup also fails with VMs on this blade.
I'm really sorry for my awfull english.
Anyone ever done this? Is there anyway? Been looking for a simple method to do this......
