vSphere client перестал коннектиться к ESXi 5.5
vSphere client перестал коннектиться к ESXi 5.5. Текст ошибки:
Call "ServiceInstance.RetrieveContent" for object "ServiceInstance" on Server failed.
The request failed because the remote server took too long to respond. (The command has timed out as the remote server is taking too long to respond)
В тот день когда клиент перестал коннектиться на гипервизоре ничего не настраивал. Пробовал коннектиться с разных компьютеров, сначала появляется сообщение о недоверенном сертификате, потом клиент долго пытается коннектиться, после чего везде возникает одна и та же ошибка.
Сервер с гипервизором пингуется. Делал telnet <адрес сервера> 443. Результат - черное окно командной строки.
Все виртуальные машины работают, пингуются и доступны по портам ssh, 443, 80, rdp.

Usb Device Info
Hi All,
have a bit of a query wondering someone may be able to help with. Below is based on Esxi 6.5.
We have a number of VM's on a host which we are passing through a usb device to each virtual machine, the issue we have is that the devices are all the same make model so from and ESXI perspective they all have the same name - this is driven by the vendorid and product id of the device firmware and as I understand is not able to be modified at all and there does not appear to be a notes section on the device to differentiate.
I am able to run the command "lsusb" on the host via ssh which lists all the usb devices attached to the ESXI host - they all have the same name however the difference being the bus and device ID are unique which is great as we can correlate this to each device as we plug them in.
However the info I need is to be able to do is correlate that bus and device id to a virtual machine it is being presented to so we know what device is mapped to which virtual machine.
I have tried the powercli command Get-UsbDevice -VM machinename however this just returns a value of USB1 which does not help us at all, I have checked the VMX file of a machine with a device mapped and there is no information contained within that on the usb device id.
Hopeful someone out there may have a good idea of getting the info we need or another idea of what we can do to correlate the usb devices to a VM.

Error opening the remote virtual machine :8333\16 - A connection to the host could not be established.
I set up VMware server 2 on a windows XP machine with SP3 and had it all running fine. I installed Vista to run as a client and created a desktop shortcut. Then shut dowm my now I cannot get it to run I just get the following error message:
"Error opening the remote virtual machine <hostname>:8333\16:
A connection to the host could not be established."
When I try to connect to theVMWare Server Home Page I get the following Internet Explorer error:
"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" |
It seems a numebr of people are having similar problems but I cannot find any solutions to my problem.
Help would be much appreciated.

Install software after server build?
This is my first day with Orchestrator. I have been able to build a VM from out template with the built-in clone script. I am now trying to install several software applications that are required that do not already exist in the template and cannot be added to the template.
Our current NON Orchestrator process is to Deploy VM from a template, login and run a powershell script that copies software from various network locations to c:\temp and then runs them.
I would like to automate this into a single VRO process, but for now, I would be pretty happy to figure out how to install the software after we have built the VM. I read how to connect a VM to powershell, using the Add a powershell host, but that does not seem like it can be automated everytime we build a machine.
Any ideas where to go?

hide/show input parameters if a substring is found on another input parameter
Hello
I know there is a way to hide/show input parameters to the user depending on another value by using the following, which it's pretty useful and i use it a lot.
we enter someting like this in the pencil field : #input_variable == "expected value"
But now i need to find also when when a substring is found!
something like :
#input_variable == "*substring*"
#input_variable == ".*substring.*"
#input_variable.indexOf("substring")
Tried all that, but nothing works
Does this really can be done in some way??

Cannot Create NSX Transport Zone
I am trying to create an NSX Transport Zone but when I click on the plus sign, after the windows loads it does not show any of my Clusters. Everything seems to be connected properly. Any ideas? See below for configurations:

public shared on master does not transfer to linked clones

I have a gold Image with a user\public\desktop folder but when I create the pool based on this gold image, the public desktop folder is not created on the linked clones, has anyone here faced this issue and can help.

Unable to edit setting on VMs Esxi 6.5
I am using ESXi 6.5 and I have 3 VM's running on this host.
Every time I try to edit the virtual machine through web client I get the following error.

I already tried different browsers and create another administrator account and I keep getting the same error.
Also when trying to edit the machine using Vsphere client I get the following error.
"You cannot use Vsphere client to edit settings of virtual machines of version 12 r higher.
Use VSphere web client to edit settings of this virtual machine."
I have a production server running out of space that I cannot edit. Is there a solution to this problem?
If not how can Increase the virtual disk through SSH?

Desligar ESXI de forma segura através de ssh
Srs, boa tarde.
Gostaria de informação por gentileza. Possuo o server ESXI 6.5.0 do qual todos os dias é desligado automaticamente através de tarefa agendada no windows. O processo é simples, utilizo o programa plink com script bat(segue abaixo), enviado através de ssh. Minha dúvida é a seguinte, O comando "/sbin/shutdown.sh && /sbin/poweroff" desliga de forma segura o ESXI?

Mobile client Lost connection
hi.
I have Horizon 7.4, security and connection server.
When i connect from horizon client for windows from my pc everything work fine.
When i try to connect from my mobile phone with mobile client for android i have a problem
after password i push my pool icon, progress bar with % o to 60% + - and error Lost connection o the server
what's wrong ?

vCSA 6.5 installation failure on a ESXi host 6.5
Hi,
I'm starting to install a VMware infrastructure on a new site.
At the moment, I have 2 ESXi hosts installed and configured with update-from-esxi6.5-6.5_update01 (Build 5969303). I can log in the the user interface of each host without problem.
Now I want to install the vCenter appliance. So I have downloaded the latest image for vCSA from the VMware download center : VMware-VCSA-all-6.5.0-6816762.iso.
I run the Installer and enter all the required parameters to install the vCSA on a selected ESXi host.
But the installation hung during 1 hour before to show any error, meaning the progress bar for the vCSA deployment is always of 0% during 1 hour.
In the Installer log I can see an error at the very beginning of the deployment : "ovfProcess child process exited with code 255".

Correct steps to remove a datastore in vmware
Good afternoon mates,
To remove a datastore in vmware, I must follow the following step:
1-Unmount all my Host Esxi from the datastore that I will remove. Since the datastore can see all my Esxi.
2- Remove the datastore to be deleted.
3-Delete datastore.
These three steps that I am indicating are the correct ones to execute?
