When using instant clones with vSphere 6.5, can I deploy desktop pools to clusters containing up to how many ESXi hosts ? (20? 32? 64?) By the way, I think that virtual volume (VVols) can not be used because it uses instant clone.

VMWare stuck at Windows 10 logo
Hello,
I've been using this Win10 VM for several months with no problems whatsoever, but since this morning it won't load Windows, it is stuck at the Win logo and nothing happens.
I can boot in safe mode.
I've created another VM with no HDD and attached the virtual hard drive with this Win 10 to it and it loads just fine.
Any suggestions?
Edit: The version of VMWare that I'm using is 12.5.5 build-5234757

VUM - vSphere Update Manager
Hello,
I want to upgrade an ESXi 4.0 to be 5.0 at least, any way I am trying to install any version of the VUM to upgrade the system, but can't find it online ... so the question is:
Is the VUM a paid program, if not please provide me a link but if it is paid how to by one.
NOTE: I am already have a free registered account on VMWARE but can't find it or download it.

Network Bridge Mode Not Working Windows 10 Host
Running VMware Workstation Pro 14 (14.1.1 build-7528167). None of my guest VM's can contact my host machine, and my host machine cannot contact the guest machines. This occurs when I'm using bridged mode for the guest NIC's. Other machines on my network can contact the guest VM's and the guest VM's can contact other machines on my network; they also have Internet access. This seems to just be guest to host and host to guest communication issues. If I switch from bridged to host only or NAT it works OK. I've tried to uninstall>reboot>reinstall VMware workstation. I've tried resetting the network settings to default in the Virtual network app. I can see the VMware bridge driver on my host machines physical NIC. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. I've turned off the firewalls on both machines.

Add new shared pRDM to 2 VMs - Downtime required or not ?
The requirement is to add a shared physical disk/rdm to 2 Oracle Enterprise Linux VMs which are holding large oracle databases. I am not sure if downtime will require for both machines or not. This is confusion as in VMware documentation its mentioned to shutdown VM while adding pRDM but I am able to do this in Powered-On state. So for a new shared physical RDM, can I add to both VMs in powered on state ?

VUM Error in VIB Metadata
Hi
Im having a bit of trouble with remidiating my test host on vsphere 6.5.
It only seems to be with the ones listed as vmware as the vendor, although they are for a HPE image as shown below.
The HPE branded ones through VUM went through fine.
These are all for the non critical updates, all of the critical updates applied with no problem.
I've updated Vcentre to the latest release through the VAMI and still no joy.

Deleted parent file, need to recover a file from a snapshot
One of my guys deleted a vm that had a parent vmdk attached to it. I only have the snapshot files that were left over, and I need to recover a file from the snapshot. How can I get the snapshot mounted? It complains about the parent missing.

Anyway to save 'Date Modified'?
I have a user complaining that his 'Recent Places' is not saving the date modified, so will only have the date and time he logged on and the files were added to Windows by UEM.
Is there anyway to capture the 'Date Modified' time with UEM?

Hello , I am now setting up the workplace one for Android SSO.
I follow the Quick guide on vmware (http://pubs.vmware.com/workspace_one_aw-91/topic/com.vmware.ICbase/PDF/workspace_one_qs_guide.pdf)
but have some question about it
May any one can help me?
1). In the guide , section Android SSO step 3b.
What should I enter on the proxy? is it cert-proxy.vmwareidentity.com:443 or any others?
2). in step 5. what is the CA’s root and intermediate certificates?
is it the same which used by iOS SSO , that find in Groups & Settings > All Settings > System > Enterprise Integration > VMware Identity Manager?
3). i did not enable the OCSP or CRL , will it case any problem?

Problem monitoring the VMtools service using the EPO agent
Hi everyone,
I have set up the EPO agent on all the VMs in my environment and I have configured the monitoring of the VMTools service. It appears to be working, the the alert is next to useless because I can't for the life of me determine which VM is triggering the alert! Am I just missing something dead simple?

I have a question about MTU in cross vcenter topology.
I have a lab with vtep implemented, but with the ping tests, the icmp packets reach a maximum of 1472 bytes. It occurs that the networks are extended and operating in my labor.
My question is, the MTU 1600 a requirement for extended network operation or is it just a performance issue or something in this sense?

vmnet-cli configure fail to create backup file
running fusion 10.1.1
on high sierra 10.13.2
when running:
"sudo /Applications/VMware\ Fusion.app/Contents/Library/vmnet-cli -c -v"
i'm getting:
"Commands specified: configure
Failed to create temporary backup file, error: No such file or directory
Failed to create temporary file to backup existing network settings"
this issue blocking me from working with my vagrant boxes.

vCenter Support Assistant did not receive any bundle for the report period
Hi all,
I see a couple of old-ish threads on this topic but I don't see any resolutions. For the last couple months, my Support Assistant monthly report indicates that no bundles were received by VMware. However, when I look in my Support Assistant plugin, pro-active monitoring has been enabled and the bundles have been collected successfully. I do have one failed pro-active upload back in December... could that be interfering with the newer ones?
Does anyone have any suggestions?
