Hi all - long time listener, first time caller.
I'm running into this message again, it first popped up in vRA 7.2, and then recently resurfaced in vRA 7.3. The message occurs after importing the XML file and committing the update set, and then attempting to configure the OAUTH settings under basic configurations.

Alerting on Custom groups
Hi how can I alert on servers in a custom groups. I see the alert I want to use but I am not seeing how it can be filtered for a custom group of servers or limit the alert to specific type of server

VMware Workstation 14 Lost mouse clicks
I am running LINUX Mint 18.2 with VMware tools 10.1.15.6211 (build-6627299) installed.
Frequently I cannot click on anything on the LINUX desktop. Hovering the mouse over items causes context messages to pop up but clicking the mouse does nothing. In order to restore clicks I have to click outside of the VM which restores click action in the VM.

Packets dropping showing in vROps
Hi,
I was seeing in vROps and found that one of the machine is dropping receiving packets as shown below and I checked with user and he did not noticed anything.
can anyone is seeing this? is there any reason why thous packets are dropping?

OVF Library Item Deploy: How to set PropertyParams in additional_parameters?
Hello,
I am using the vCenter REST API to deploy OVF's which I can successfully do. However, I'm unable to get additional_parameters to work properly. Specifically, custom PropertyParams. The API either a) ignores my request, or b) returns a 500 Internal Server error with the following message: "Could not convert field 'properties' of structure 'com.vmware.vcenter.ovf.property_params'".
I have tried various approaches with no luck.
My understanding from the documentation is the request should look like this:
deployment_spec : {
/* ... */
additional_parameters : [
{
type : 'PropertyParams',
properties : [
{
id : 'custom_prop_name_found_in_ovf',
value : 'true'
}
]
}
]
}
(the above results in the conversion error)
What am I doing wrong here?!
Note that this is using the ovf deploy API:

Got error message: "Invalid target disk adapter type: pvscsi"
Hi everyone!
I have an OVA file that I deployed successfully on existing versions of VMWare Workstation Pro. When I try deploying it on the 2017 Tech Preview, I get the error "Invalid target disk adapter type: pvscsi" and the import fails.
Any idea why this is happening? Is this a known limitation of the Tech Preview or a change in design?

Plugin Seed 0.9.8 GlobalRefresh stops working after Action is invoked
There appears to be a GlobalRefresh issue with Plugin seed 0.9.8 - AppComponent loses the GlobalRefreshHandler reference when an action is called from the Actions menu.
It seems that when the Action is invoked, the entire App is loaded. The AppComponent loaded in the Action Modal calls setGlobalRefreshHandler() which changes the reference to the AppComponent loaded Action Modal. When the Action Modal is closed, the refresh button in the vSphere UI menu no longer works.
To confirm, I added a simple check in AppComponent.ts to skip setGlobalRefreshHandler() if the route url contains an action name. This allows Refresh continue working after an action modal is opened/dismissed.
Is this known issue? Suggestions for a more proper long term fix would be appreciated.
Sorry if this has already been covered here - I saw some other Refresh topics but they didnt seem to be related.

Bug with Set-VM -version v13?
Hi,
I'm working on a script to update tools and VM version on some VMs.
It appears that for some reason I cannot set the version, via PowerCLI, to anything above v11.
Like: Set-VM -vm (get-vm $MyVM) -Version v13 -Confirm:$false
If I do I get "The operation is not supported on the object".
If I change 13 to 11 it works fine.
Also If I set it to 13 via the GUI it works fine.
I'm running PowerCLI 6.5 towards a 6.5 U1 vCenter and the VM is on a 6.5 U1 ESXi.

SUSE SE8 Linux Maschine nach ESXi 6 virtualisieren
Ich habe eine sehr alte SUSE SE8 Maschine und möchte diese auf einen ESXi 6 Guest virtualisieren.
Standalone Converter 4 kann SUSE SE8, aber nicht ESXi 6 - Standalone Converter 6 kann ESXi 6 aber nicht SUSE SE8.
Gibt es eine Möglichkeit diese alte Maschine in ESXi 6 zu virtualisieren?
Leider muss ich bei SUSE SE8 bleiben, denn auf der Maschine läuft Software, die auf neueren Versionen nicht mehr läuft, weil sie nicht weiter entwickelt wird.

Caps lock always turn on after switching from Windows 10 Virtual Machine to Host
I have a really annoying problem since I upgraded to vmware fusion 10 (10.0.1) (why oh why do I keep upgrading)
When I move to the virtual machine which is hosting windows 10, no matter what caps state the virtual machine is in, my caps always goes on when I return to the host. So no caps in host to virtual machine no caps = CAPS when returning to host, no caps on host to caps on virtual machine = CAPS on host. I continually move from virtual machine to host which means that I constantly have to turn CAPS off. Can anyone tell me how I can fix this?

Customization Specification Support for Network Adapters without a default gateway
Hi,
Our Windows templates have 2 NICs and we do not use a default gateway on the second NIC.
Virtual centre allows us to use a customisation where the second NIC does not use a gateway and it works fine.
We are trying to automate the template deployment and customisation.
However using Set-OSCustomizationNicMapping -OSCustomizationNicMapping using a static IP the DefaultGateway option is mandatory.
Is there any work around for this please.
All I can think is not to use the customisation specification for the 2nd NIC and just leave on DHCP and then try and configure it later but this would not be a straightforward task and surely it is something we should be able to do using PowerCLI.

Where is the forum for ESXi 6.5?
I am running ESXi 6.5.0 as a VM under Workstation 12 which is running on Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials. When I go to VMTN Forums (communities.vmware.com/community/vmtn) under VMware Infrastructure I see ESXi 3.5, ESX 3.5 and ESX 3.0. There is no forum for ESXi 6.5. Where is the forum for ESXi 6.5.0?

Workstation or Vsphere
Hello peeps
I am a bit unsure of how to proceed in my situation. I use a lot of vms for varies reason so I would like to use a high performance desktop to serve up virtual machines that I can ssh to and mess with from a laptop only accessible from within a local network. I am unsure if workstation or vsphere would best suit this situation, could someone with more experience give a bit of advice?

how to find why my esxi server kept on maintenance mode. as I can see multiple esx host are kept in maintenance mode in our environment, but I dont know why it is in maintenance mode.
is there any way I can find why those hosts are in Maintenance mode.

View Event logs showing The Pending session on machine %Machine name% for user %username% has expired, but users are not experiencing any issues
Hello Experts,
Recently, I installed Horizon View 7 for a client and on their parent images uninstalled the old version of the view agent and installed the latest 7.0.1. So an odd thing is occurring, out of 90 users, 30 of these users are showing the following warning in the View Admin event logs after 15 minutes of logging on and happens every day to the same users.
The Pending session on machine %Machine name% for user %username% has expired.
Also, on the connection server, the logs show this message: "Client does not support idle session handling. Desktop SSO times out in: Never. Application SSO Times out in: Never.”
I originally thought it was the SSO timer since that was set to 15 minutes, so I changed it to NEVER and the warning still shows up for these same 30 users. The users experiencing the issue are using Teradici Zero Clients firmware version 4.8.0.
Also, this is happening in different pools so it is not pool specific. Has anyone experienced this with the new Horizon View 7.0.1? Could this possibly be a bug since no one is experiencing login issues?
