Site Pairing failed -Error occured during serialization of the token request

Hello,

We have SRM/vCenter at both protection site and as well at recovery site.

Vcenter - 6.0U2

SRM - 6.1.1.13171

Site pairing was worked fine until we restarted the protection site vcenter server(which has SRM too). after vcenter/SRM at protection site came back online. It couldn't connect to SRM at recovery site.

When we tried to reconfigure the pairing from protection site, its failing with error message "failed to acquire token from sso server at https://<Recovery site Vcenter>/sts/STSService/vsphere.local".

And we observing that recovery site SRM/Vcenter can connect the protection site SRM.

Thanks,

Dinesh.

Create and mount virtual USB flash drive

Hello,

I use VMware Workstation 9 for a lab environment on my laptop. As an IT engineer who builds and manages operating system deployment (OSD) processes, I need the ability to test out certain processes using USB flash drives. Unfortunately, I do not always have a USB flash drive available to test with. It would be very convenient if I had the ability to use VMware Workstation to create a virtual USB flash drive, rather than requiring me to have a physical USB flash drive to use.

Is this a possibility?

Cheers,

Import a Cert via UEM

We have a website that requires a certificate be put in place, that we were trying to see if UEM could accomplish. We are using linked clone/floating pools today, refresh on logoff, no mandatory profiles. Typically we would startup the parent VM, load the certificate manager MMC, and add the cert to the personal store for the machine account, but, we wanted to have the flexibility to change it out on the fly, without having to do a recompose. Is this something UEM can accomplish, or would we be better off pursuing it via group policy?

I was thinking of an upgrade to Workstation 14 Pro but the VMware store looks to be broken?

Not sure if anyone else sees the VMware store as being "broken" but I seem to see the main page but all the CSS has been lost.

vSphere Mac Native Client

A native mac client to connect to vSphere is available at http://vclient.top, it provides functionality to connect to both esx and vcenter, having the ability to go through inventories, favorite vms, open VM screen, start/suspend VMs, etc.

The whole operations is quiet simple

1. Open vClient.app

2. Click plus button on the left-top corner, connect to a server, e.g. your-vcenter.com (without http/https) with credential

3. Your will have three tabs: Host inventory/Data center inventory/Favorite VMs

4. Right click a VM, you can favorite a VM, which means it's not needed to open the big vCenter/Esx next time if you just want to access this VM

How to force power-off to a recalcitrant guest- Workstation 14 Pro

Hi;

Every once in a while I have run into a situation where (on a Windows 7 host) I have used 'VM / Power / Restart Guest' to try and restart a guest, but the guest stalls and doesn't restart. It appears to stall.

When this happens, I can no longer try 'VM / Power / Power-off' to force the guest to power-off instead. All the power choices are now greyed out.

Is there an official way to recover from this? I ended up restarting the Windows host (and using 'force restart'), but it seems like there should be a better way. Or perhaps this should never happen?

I have Workstation Pro configured to keep the guests running if I end the Host UI, so simply ending the GUI on the host presumably won't help by itself.

Thanks;

Hi all,

I am running on VMware Horizon version 7.3.1

When I want to collect the Agent logs on the Desktop directly with the Support.bat file, the collecting is stucking at

Gathering SVI information...

When trying to collect the logs with the vdmadmin tool on the Connection Server, I get this error:

Please wait, this may take several minutes...

Failed to obtain agent DCT (Cannot obtain channel for remote access)

What can be the Problem here? I need the logs because I have a Screen Problem when using a Zero Client Wyse P25 with two Monitors.

I had a SSD cache disk failed, i have tried to remove it to handle but stuck at operation time out. I tried two option Full data miration and Ensure accessibilty, both didn't work.

An event appeared before time out event.

How to resolve this annoying issue and i wonder if it's safe completely to physically replace failed SSD disk.

Unable to delete or unmount a datastore because file system is busy

ESXi 5.5 VMFS3

I'm trying to delete or unmount a datastore but both are failing with below error messages.

UNMOUNT. - Out of the 5 hosts in cluster it is unmounted from 4 while it's still mounted on one host & gives below error

Call "HostStorageSystem.UnmountVmfsVolume" for object "storageSystem-3994" on vCenter Server "xyz" failed.

Cannot unmount volume 'Datastore Name: abc VMFS uuid: 507978c7-f56a954c-b170-782bcb507614' because file system is busy. Correct the problem and retry the operation.

DELETE - if trying to delete it's giving me below error.

Call "HostDatastoreSystem.RemoveDatastore" for object "datastoreSystem-3994" on vCenter Server "xyz" failed.

Cannot remove datastore 'Datastore Name: abc VMFS uuid: 507978c7-f56a954c-b170-782bcb507614' because file system is busy. Correct the problem and retry the operation.

I browsed through the datastore, there's only folder named .vSphere-HA while if I check the datastore hearbeating in HA properties, this datastore is not a part of Datastore heartbeats as well.

Tried restarting mgmt services - Didn't work

Tried disabling HA & then deleting/unmounting datastore - Didn't work

Triedhttp://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2069171 - Didn't work

Rebooting the host would be last option, but I'm looking for a fix on this.

The virtual machine uses hardware version 0 which is no longer supported.

Hi Folks,

I am getting the error " The virtual machine uses hardware version 0, Which is no longer support. Upgrade is recommended " on one of the VMs in a cluster.

I can ping the virtual machine but I can't do any hardware changes, power state changes, etc on this virtual machine from vSphere Client and Web Client.

I checked from SSH session of the parent ESXi host of this VM and found this VM is in the state invalid. I can't do anything on this VM from command line as well.

Rest all the virtual machines are running fine in the cluster.

Can anyone suggest how should I recover this VM.

Thanks in advance.

Error adding an SSL cert in Openstack 4.0

Hi everybody,

I am struggeling with a new issue at VIO 4.0.

I just have deployed it in our lab and I would like to add an signed SSL cert.

CSR creation is fine, as soon as I would like to import the final cert but I am receiving the following error:

Failed to decode VALUE_STRING as base64 (MIME-NO-LINEFEEDS): Illegal character '"' (code 0x22) in base64 content

at [Source: java.io.StringReader@171f36df; line: 1, column: 40]

The cert is base64 and it works fine with other servers as well.

Also the procedure was fine in VIO 3.1

Does anybody had a similary expierence?

thanks in advance

How can I restore the integrity of a .vmdk disk?

Good afternoon my friends, my problem is this, I have a server Windows 2016 mounted on ESXI 6.0, from one day to another stopped working, try to create a new vm using the existing vmdk disk but I can not, even when I go todata store to review the disk, i can see that it is not recognized by the vmware explorer as a .vmdk file, even if it has the extension as you can see in the following image.

I do not know, if someone here could recommend me an external tool that runs on windows that is capable of restoring the integrity of that virtual disk, if anyone knows, I would thank you entirely with all my soul HEHEHE ...

Thank you very much...!!!
