"Error during provisioning: No suitable datastores."

We have 3-node cluster VDI on ESXi 6.5 with all-flash VSAN. All work fine, but about 2 weeks ago we see error during provisioning in full-clone desktop pool: "Error during provisioning: No suitable datastores." But datastore have 2,2 Tb free space... Can't find any information why this error happens...

Ufter upgrade to Horizon 7.1 can't provision new full-clone machines

We have 3-node cluster VDI on ESXi 6.5 with all-flash VSAN. All work fine, but about 2 weeks ago after upgrade to horizon 7.1 we see error during provisioning in full-clone desktop pool: "Error during provisioning: No suitable datastores." But datastore have 2,2 Tb free space... Can't find any information why this error happens...

Please help me to understand why this error happens...

No network in new Win 10 1909 VM or after update of 1903??

So apparently there is a windows patch that stops the network adapter from working properly after windows updates on 1903 and from the get-go on 1909. Anyone know a way around it?

How to move from VMware Tunnel/Content Gateway to UAG?

I have frontend and endpoints setup for Tunnel, Proxy, and Content on Linux in my organization.  Lately VMware keeps calling my environment "Legacy".  With the next update we do I am going to have to also replace all my SSL certs and was thinking of switching to UAG.  Some questions immediately pop up:

 

1. Being a packaged deal not sure how that would work.  Does this still have the frontend and endpoints?

2. If I turn off my current servers and install these, rename them to the same as the old ones, and use the same IP's will they just pick up where the other ones left off?

3. Curious also if there is any conversion guide and way to do this without users being overly impacted.

4. I assume the UAG includes Tunnel, Proxy, and Content?

5. I have never done an OVA install as basically when a new version comes out do you delete the current install and put the other OVA in it's place and redo all the settings again?

VCSA/vCenter Network Placement Best Practice

Assuming we have the following 2x vSwitches (simplified for example, there are more in actuality):

  1. vSwitch0 - 10.1.10.1/24 - Management traffic
  2. vSwitch1 - various 10.1.X.1/24 port groups - VM traffic in different VLANs

 

Our VCSA sits in the same management network as vSwitch0 (let's say, for example, it's IP is 10.1.10.100/24).

 

Questions:

  1. It makes sense to me to have VCSA be in the same network as the Management traffic... correct?
  2. Is there a best practice or recommendation for which vSwitch to have VCSA on?  vSwitch0 or vSwitch1?

 

To me I think VCSA would work equally well in either vSwitch, but since I'm redesigning things I thought I would see if anyone had opinions.  It would be the only VM NOT on a "VM only" vSwitch so kind of sticks out as an exception.

Does ESXi work with AMD Ryzen?

ESXi 6.7.0 U2 and ESXi 6.5.0 U2 both give the same error.  I am using an MSI B450-A-Pro motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 1700 and 32G RAM.  I get the following error, " no network adapters were detected.  either no network adapters are physically connected or a suitable driver could be located."

 

Any help would be appreciated.

When I try to enter shared folders, windows 10 crashed. Using Fusion 10.1.6 version on Mac OS Catalina

Hi,

I am using Fusion 10.1.6 on Mac OS Catalina, and when I try to open the shared folder, it crashed every time(show windows' blue screen).

This issue only happens in Windows10. I have two virtual machines on the same Fusion, Windows 7 and Windows 10,  but in Windows7, there's no problem with the shared folder.

I really need the shared folder function so that I can see and edit files in my mac's hard drive.

このコマンドは、以下の環境では利用できないのでしょうか？

環境は、。。。

ESXi：6.7

ｖCenter：Windows2012R2、ｖCenter6.7

Connectionサーバ：Windows2012R2、VMware-Horizon-Connection-Server7.6

Composerサーバ ：Windows2012R2、VMware-viewcomposer-7.6

PowerCLI Version：11.5.0 build 14912921（操作パソコンとConnectionサーバに入れています）

 

 

実行状況は

1.Windows10のパソコンのPowershell(管理者)を起動し

 

2.モジュールを読み込み

　　Import-Module VMware.PowerCLI

　　Import-Module VMware.VimAutomation.HorizonView

 

3.Connect-HVServerコマンドで、Connectionサーバに接続し、

　　Connect-HVServer -Server 168.X.XX.XXX -User administrator -Password XXXX  -Domain XXXX

 

4.Get-Poolでエラーとなります

　　PS C:\Windows\system32> Get-Pool

VCSA 6.7 Database Maintenance

For larger VCSA footprints, have you had to do any manual database maintenance? Any db space issues?

 

On page 64 of the vSphere 6.7 Performance Best Practices PDF, it mentions the following:

1) Update statistics of the tables and indexes on a regular basis for better overall performance of the

database.

2) As part of the regular database maintenance activity, check the fragmentation of the index objects and

recreate indexes if needed (i.e., if fragmentation is more than about 30%).

 

Or are these tasks completed automatically with the embedded Postgres database on Photon?

Secure LDAP with Active Directory (Integrated Windows Authentication)

I've been reading this VMware blog post:

 

VMware vSphere & Microsoft LDAP Channel Binding & Signing (ADV190023) - VMware vSphere Blog

 

According to it, because I'm using "Active Directory (Integrated Windows Authentication)" my vCenters should not be affected by Microsoft's forthcoming changes to LDAP authentication.

 

However, when I've turned on extra monitoring of LDAP connections on my domain controllers, it is seeing my Platform Services Controller logging into LDAP insecurely with their machine accounts.

 

This is on VSCA 6.5 U3f, with external PSCs.

 

Anyone know what's going on here?

Esxi Link agregation

Hi,

 

I'm having some trouble with Esxi (6.7) and LAG.

Perhaps I don't understand NIC Teaming on Esxi ...

 

- I set up the vswitch with 2 active NIC (2x 1Gb) and route based on IP hash.

- I create two virtual machines attached to this vswitch.

- On my switch, I set up the interfaces as static LAG.

- I do some bandwidth test with "iperf" between two physical machines (each with 1 Gb/s ethernet connection) and both VM.

- I do other test with "iperf" between 3-4 machines (each with 1 Gb/s ethernet connection) and both VM.

 

I hope to get results close to 2 Gb/s, but in reality I only get a result close to 1 Gb/s.

 

Where am i wrong ?

VMRC - copy/paste problem

Hello,

 

The copy/paste doesn't work using VMRC (version 10.0.3 build-9300449) between the guest VMs and my computer I can't copy a text and paste it in the guest VM.

 

Do you know if is it possible to activate this feature?.
